As close to the ultimate bad beat as you can get (non-poker)

Well, she's had a few setbacks along the way, but things are now moving forward again. Today is her 79th day in the hospital...but really, the last week has seen a big improvement. She overcame the initial pneumonia a few weeks back, but one of the common byproducts of a long hospital stay is secondary infections. For the last two weeks, she's been fighting a staph infection and MRSA, which is quite nasty -- but she's finally winning.

I hope to be able to report in a couple of weeks that she's left ICU for a long term acute care hospital for rehab. We'll see.
