OT: Fun day

* Database I'm supposed to be testing suffered a massive hardware failure. Hard drive was replaced, but the database still won't come on-line.
* The geniuses at ACWA broke the water main leading into my neighborhood (just so happens I'm working from home today).
* My mother-in-law flies into Denver 30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled.

Why do all bad things happen at the same time? Hears to hoping it got better.

* Database came back up shortly afterwards.
* Water main was fixed ... only took four hours.
* Mother-in-law was detained by INS for a few hours because her fingerprint somehow didn't match what was previously on record--so she missed her original flight and she didn't get in until midnight. (Of course, that's a bad thing--I actually do like my in-laws. Really.)
My father-in-law arrived last night. Newark was getting pounded by snow, so his flight arrived 2.5 hours late. Fun times.
