PLO, getting aces in PF

Post  SnowOcean on Tue Apr 14, 2009 10:28 pm

are you ever folding PF, even if the aces don't have a whole lot going for them?

Poker Stars $0.05/$0.10 Pot Limit Omaha Hi - 7 players - View hand 96266
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

SB: $3.65
BB: $8.00
UTG: $7.00
Hero (UTG+1): $4.75
MP: $5.75
CO: $5.55
BTN: $5.60

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is UTG+1 with A A 4 7
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.35, MP calls $0.35, 1 fold, BTN calls $0.35, SB raises to $1.85, BB calls $1.75, Hero raises to $4.75 all in, 2 folds, SB calls $1.80 all in, BB calls $2.90

Flop: ($13.85) 2 5 J (3 players - 2 are all in)

Turn: ($13.85) 6 (3 players - 2 are all in)

River: ($13.85) 7 (3 players - 2 are all in)

Final Pot: $13.85
SB mucks 9 K K 2
BB shows K J T 5 (two pair, Jacks and Fives)
Hero mucks A A 4 7
BB wins $2.10
BB wins $11.10
(Rake: $0.65)

obviously its push/fold preflop once there is a 3rd bet, but i never feel comfortable here no matter what i do

No, I don't fold this PF at all, certainly not at these stakes. However, given the action, it's easy to read one villian with KK or QQ, and one or more villians on well connected hands. So I'd actually have to think about simply calling the 3-bet, because you know villians are pot committed or have decent odds to call your 4-bet shove.

And then, you can open shove any non-scary flop.
