Having a great read (and a nemesis)
There is a lot of backround between me and this guy. I have had him all in 3 times prior to this and he has folded each time and this is in the first hour of the tourney. Here I am sure he has a little ace and am sure his pride won't let him fold in another big pot to me. I pretty much played this pot like "hey, you keep folding to me, I am going to jam this one down your throat and you are going to fold again." I knew he couldn't let himself fold to me again. How do you like this play?
Also the underlying question here is how to play AJ in EP. This is one area where it gets a little fuzzy for me. At this stage in the tourney I cannot play AJ UTG or UTG+1 but might raise in MP to LP. From the SB my thought here was to limp and try to spike an ace. I see no reason to raise here right? I mean pre-flop from the SB. Anyway good result but like I said, great read already on this guy.

Pwned.
Still, I have to think he could have limped AQo in that spot, though, given his position and action on the turn, but a raise pf looks likelier.
Dude, I'll be at Crown Lanes after work tonight (pre-bands) if you feel like free donkin'.

wow that is tempting... only problem is I am home sick today. If I decide to play free donkaments I will head down there.Mondogarage wrote:Pwned.

That's funny...I'll probably be leaving there sick when someone calls my 5x BB raise, out of position, with 85sooooted.
It'll be one of those days where if I go out early, no biggie, since I do want to go see bands from about 9:30pm on, which is about the only time I play bar poker in Denvah anyway.

Re: Having a great read (and a nemesis)
Bar poker at the old Crown Lanes sounds like good times. I haven't been there since I quit dealing there over a year ago. Hmmmmmm ...I would say that I am going except that I know the wife won't go and it's our date night. The wife is working some trade show up in Estes Park this weekend so perhaps I can sneak out Sat or Sun for an afternoon game... maybe even go up the hill and play a tourney.

Son I remember when you dealt that game.
Remember Grenade?
Remember when I found out you were scrupboy at that sushi bar with the poker game?
Remember when your wife almost ran you over in front of my house?
Good times.

Re: Having a great read (and a nemesis)
Hmm...maybe I can talk wifey into a noon tourney run up the hill on Monday...but only if the noon Monday tourneys are any decent...haven't checked yet.
She wants to work on her limit cash game, since we're in Vega$ in two weeks, so who knows.
But eff ya'll, I'll still be at Crown at 7pm tonight, lol. Someone else will have to take my chips. Or not.
Last time I went, I was a semi-donk, to go see some bands, and then I won the whole damn thing and missed the bands...

Sweet.
If you show, I'll buy ya a beer (even if I'm drinking soda myself). I'll even trade the beer for all your chips.

Ah well, I'll run into one of you guys one of these days. If you do show, I'll be wearing a short sleeve olive shirt with a grey t-shirt underneath...prolly sunglasses, maybe not.
Hope you feel like coming out, but if not, then someday.
