After losing three sng's last Friday, I told myself I was done with the Heartland this go around. Funny how a couple of days can change one's mind.
Went up last night paid 340, and got my gold ticket. I'll be at the chocolate factory for flight A. See you guys at the ME.

Re: HPT Sept 08 thread
I got bounced right after the second break (or maybe it was the third?). Anyway the blinds were 500/1000/100 and I had about 9k in chips. I looks down at AJs in MP/LP and jam. Guy on my immediate left thinks for a second and re-raises, one of the blinds thinks and pushes, guy on left calls, guy on left shows KK, guy in blinds shows like TT or something. No love on the flop, turn, or river for me, I am sent packin. I didn't have cards all night and was seriously making moves I don't like to make like pulling squeeze plays on pure bluffs, jamming with only one or two limpers in the pot with complete air, just making moves where I felt I had to to stay alive and they were working. I was really playing a good game. A few hands before going out (before the break) I foled AQo in EP when a solid tight player raised UTG, after all folded he flashed aces, I made that fold with an M of about 6 but I had to do it, I knew he was huge, it was a great laydown that I can rarely make. I was playing great cards but going for the steal with AJs was the end of me.
Glad to see you got the seat. GL man!

That sucks Danny! Sometimes you can never get things going and then when you need to make moves to gain chips and steal blinds, you get stuck going against monsters. What can you do?
Nice job Math. GL in the ME!

Echo you both. It's already damn well established Danny's good enough to be playing the ME. Sorry your one shot at it didn't bear fruit.
Math, methinks you're carring the banner yourself for Poker In Colorado...as usual, I waffle about going until I no longer have time.

I went up Monday night and, since my wife is a degen slot player/loser we got a comped room at Colo Cent Stn. Very nice huge room. Anyway, I sat down at CCS with $100 and left 2 1/2 hrs later with $385. Goddamed boats wouldn't leave me alone. So I figure that was my $115 SNG and buy into the $340 Tuesday morning. There were 65 runners so 13 is the lucky number. I was born on Friday the 13th, so I'm feeling good about this.
Four hours later I'm at average stack as has been the case all day. 20 Runners left and my plan was to hit a big hand, double up and coast in. Its 1000/2000/200 and I have AA in MP with 28.4K. EP guy makes it 6k, I'm begging for action so I minraise to 12K. Guy to my left goes all-in. EP tanks and folds and I look back at my hand to make sure I really have AA and not A4. I got 'em so i call. AI shows 99 so I feel good for about 3 second when the flop brings an ass-clenching 9. TD says we're all being moved to another table, throws the seat cards on the table and tells everyone to hurry hurry to the new table. Turn and river is no help and I'm crippled. 25,500 chips are cut out of my stack and TD tells me to hurry to the next table. I ask if I would get a warning if I told him to fuck off. He says I would so I wish him good day.
I fold J9o after anteing off 200 and, with the blinds approaching, shove my remaining 2500 (after another 200 ante) with JTs. Only BB calls with T4o. The river brings a 4. That's it. I'm done. Two hands I get it in as the favorite and walk away with a sore ass.
So, are they coming back in April?

Ouch. That's how I was crippled last April when we had 14 to go in making the ME. AA vs KK and K on the flop. It's so sickening. Nice run at the Station!

Wait a minute...
99 and KK beating AA? Is Pokerstars dealing for HPT?

Well that sucks hard, but if you look at it one way, you pretty much freerolled the qualifier, sorta. Going out that way sucks hard, that's all I gots to say.
