I cam close a couple weekends ago. Had JJ in the BB and called a button raise. Flop came down KQJ. I bet he raises and then I re-raise. Needless to say he is all-in on the flop and turns over KK. I rivered quads and he ended up with Kings full of jacks.

It hit last night.

Table share was around 20K a piece. Loser was over 200k and the winner was 150-180ish. The funny thing is I rarely go up the hill anymore and as telling Emily about eh bad beat and we were going to head up to the lodge to play. Long story short, she ends up not going so on the way I decide I would rather play a tourney @ the Gilpin. About 30 minutes after I got there a guy at my table got a text saying "the bad beat just hit." The floor got a call about the same time and announced it and I was pissed I didn't go to the lodge as planned even though I am pretty sure I would have still been on the wait list. They gave everyone at a ring game a piece as well. Yeah, everyone in the cardroom got like $300.

Oh yeah, a consolation prize; 3rd in CPC the $120 for an even 1K. Not too shabby...

Danny sends me a text message last night and I was bummed as I was supposed to be up there, but had to change my plans due to a scheduling conflict. Someone I knew told me that it was Quad 6's beat by a ten high straight flush. Approximately, 220k to the quad 6's, 170k to the straight flush and 21k table share. The room share only went to those that had their players card checked in, including the people on the table that hit the bad beat. The room holds approximately 200 people and 169 split 10% of the BBJ for around $380 a piece. Still, not bad for just being in the room and not having a missed blind. I feel bad for the other 31 people that didn't have their players card checked. I was also told that it hit on a 2-5 table and that the person holding quad 6's may have just sat at the table.

Back when the BB qualified with aces full of jacks beaten, the second and third jackpots would hit within the same week or very close to when the first hit. This scenario is probably unlikely now that quads need to be beaten, but I think I'll take my chances and make a trip up tonight just to "test the waters." On another note, played 5-5 for about 10 hours on Saturday and took home $500.

Nice job on the 3rd place finish at The Gilpin, Danny! See you at the finals.

Everything you posted is correct. they announced it at the Giplin. Also, I didn't qualify, only 1st and second did.

Nice cash, just the same.

I went up Friday, but specifically to play the $80+80 at the GG. My AA went down to JJ for a chiplead-sized stack late during hour 2, and I could only ride the micro stack for another hour, so on semi-tilt, I entered the 3pm tourney and went out in 4th for a buy-in save (they only had 30 runners and only paid 3 spots, I run so bad sometimes).

Had too much of an altitude headache to stay longer, so just went home.

Wifey's out of town again this weekend, though, so I may have to make another run up, any plans?

I'd like to play the Sunday noon tourney at the Gates. I'll check the schedule and keep you posted. Perhaps now I can go back to playing a tourney instead of hours at The Lodge trying to hit a BB.

Definitely let me know. I have to see what time wifey's getting back on Sunday. If her return is early enough, I may have to make Saturday my only option. I'll check her flight schedule tonight.

Yo Son, if you decide to go, I'm definitely available for the Sunday noon.

It's really difficult for me to know right now. I don't want to leave you hanging, but probably won't know if I can make it until Saturday.

That's fine, just post it here on Saturday when you know one way or the other. I'll check in here at some point late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, and plan accordingly.

There's nothing stopping me from raging solo, of course, but I figure if no one else here is going up, I can just as easily stay home and donk online, so I'm good either way. But I also figure if anyone else here *is* going on Sunday, it's a great day for me to actually be able to do so.

Depending on what the better half says, I may be able to make it up there for the sunday noon as well. What kind of buy-in are we looking at?

<--- too lazy to check for himself

It's the same tourney we played last time. $100 buyin for 15k chips and 30 minute rounds. Last time I played it was 9 hours to get 4rd place out of 90 players.

I hope I can make it, but it will take sweet talking the woman.

I was told that the BB hit again at The Lodge on Friday. It's an odd thing there when the BB hits once the next two seem to follow pretty quickly. I wouldn't be surprised if the next one hits within the next week.
