Sunday July 26th

Post  Scrupboy on Sat Jul 26, 2008 8:30 pm

Going to play in the Sunday noon tournament again. $100 buy in for 15k in chips and 30 minute rounds. I should be up there around 10:30 if anyone wants to meet up.

I would play but I have to go with Em to take pictures of Buffalo Bill Days in Golden.

Good luck.

I'm sure he'll be playing in the 300 at the Gilpin today, but if I see him in a dark secluded alley... LOL

Ahhhh.....wish I coulda made it.

But wifey's out of town next weekend, and I can likely do noon at the Gates next Sunday, if folks are up for it.

That is, if I get enough sleep after the Denver Post Underground Music Showcase the night before....so it's more like fiddy fiddy.

Nothing great came out of this tournament. Played for 5.5 hours and came up short with around 25 players left. It was a horrible play by me as I had a really good read on this guy. He made a move at the pot and I was pretty sure that he didn't want a call. He had top pair with no kicker and I had second pair with a kicker. I make the call and bye, bye me.

In hindsight, I didn't need to gamble there as I was sitting on a decent chip stack. I read the guy well as he didn't want a call, but it had nothing to do with the fact that he had top pair he was scared of his kicker. There were 90 players generating a top prize of $2600.

Gates is making some interesting changes. They will be hosting a $25,000 freeroll for all players that post 50 hours of playing time for the month of August. Also, they are changing their bad beat to aces full of jacks beaten.

Played the 7:00 tournament at The Gilpin and came up short as well when Q's got busted by 56 when a second 6 hit the board on the turn. Ran into Jamal and gave him a ribbing on his recent play (no look gamble in the tourney) and congrats on his recent finish. Finished off the night playing live at The Lodge with a big $100 win (was up $300 at one point).

Good times.
