Re: Calculating odds in Hold Em
Uh, I think you made some huge outs counting errors here.
There are only 13 diamonds in the deck. You can account for four. That leaves 9.
There are 4 queens left. One of them is a diamond, which you already counted. That leaves 3.
You then have 12 outs.
OK, now do your calculations.

I cut and pasted this and didn't read it, I assumed it was correct. damn. I will read it now even though I already know what it is talking about to check errors.
Re: Calculating odds in Hold Em
Wow I just read it and that is AWFUL. I am going to delete this.
nice catch wetdog. maybe I should read what I am posting from now on. I am now going to that other forum to let that guy know his post sucks.

Re: Calculating odds in Hold Em
You shouldn't try to use math when you play hold 'em anyway. Math is stupid. Just close your eyes, read the soul of your opponent and act accordingly.
lol @ math.

You actually don't have to close your eyes if you wear sunglasses. Thats a little trick I learned @ 2-5 up the hill.Stallion wrote:You shouldn't try to use math when you play hold 'em anyway. Math is stupid. Just close your eyes, read the soul of your opponent and act accordingly.

The math doesn't have to be stupid. Especially if you make it up as you go, like I do. (10 x 10 = 1000, right?)

Ya, ya ya....except we're talking poker here, not 2/5.
BTW, everyone knows there's actually 17 aces in the deck whenever I flop a set of Kings.
