Its just going to Legislation lead by the Congressman in Black Hawk. I would be surprised if it doesn't get tabled...
But, it does give me hope that one day things will come around!

The company I work for is attending a Legislative open house where we can meet with our representatives, get tours, watch action on the floor, etc.
I'm hoping to be able to bring this up at one point or another.

Does anyone have an extra $200,000 sitting around? We can hire our own lobbyist.

It would be a wonderful thing, indeed, but there's really zero chance in hell of this passing either the state house, or a fall referendum.
Worth watching, though.

There is some more support for raising limits in Blackhawk. This time, it is from Tupa, who is more likely to get something done.

While I have not read the bill, I think that there is also a provision that makes throwing cards a felony.
just kidding, Ian.

Here is a poll on the Denver Post regarding raising the limits. You can vote here:

I didn't realize that even if it passes the state vote, it still needs to be voted on again by each of the three casino towns.
I think the possible added revenue to the state will help with its passing, but it still looks like a long shot.

I really hope they get craps up there.
Or maybe not....I'm not sure the wife would appreciate me losing the house at a local casino.

Re: Colorado Gambling Laws:Looking to Expand the Games and Stake
Just saw this article on RockyMountainNews:
Gambling stakes increase on state ballot
A proposed amendment that would allow Colorado’s casino towns to decide whether to increase bet limits to $100 from the current $5 has been approved for November’s ballot.
The limited gaming measure, which will be designated as Amendment 50, received an estimated 88,965 valid signatures based on a random sample of those delivered to the secretary of state’s office on July 25.
The proposal calls for allowing Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek to be able to call local elections to decide whether they want to expand bet limits. It would also allow residents of the towns to decide whether they want expanded casino hours and to have craps and roulette added to the games local casinos offer.
