We're spending a lot of time at home anymore watching a lot of movies (OMG there are some terrible movies out there!). Can you guys post some movie recommendations? And something other than Rounders would be nice...

Well, without any idea of what general types of moving you like to watch, or what aspects of filmmaking are most important to you, I can recommend (just as a quick & dirty short list):

Ronin
The Big Lebowski
The Hudsucker Proxy
Ghost World
Jackie Brown
Best In Show
The Score
Rushmore
Lost In Translation

Without knowing what type of genre you are looking for I am going to play it safe and say Office Space. Truly a classic. Just a plain brilliant movie. By get I mean buy it, don't waste the money renting.

Thanks Mondo - I'll add those to the queue. I guess types of movies always helps, but it's interesting to see what other people suggest as well.

Not looking for horror movies at all. I'd say drama/suspense types of movies appeal to us. Movies you kinda have to think about. Haven't seen anything really good lately, but did enjoy Deja Vu. Momento was OK - but you really have to pay attention to that. We have Cincinnati Kid in the queue, but other poker movies would be good - I hear there are some great ones out there.

If you like older movies (say, 60s), I can recommend:

Charade
The Italian Job (the original version)
Wait Until Dark
Blow-Up (this one's a bit trippy and non-sensical)

For the record, the "best poker player" in Cincinatti Kid is a suckout artist.

One suspense/drama movie I found to be quite good was the Illusionist. It has Edward Norton and Paul Giovanni (the orangutan from the new Planet of the Apes).

Knocked Up was pretty good, too. Unlike Super Bad (which IMHO sucked), it didn't give away all of the funny parts in the previews.
