Okay, I've looked at this hand and see I really should have raised on 4th street (and possibly even three-bet 3rd street?), when I had the apparent best draw (and I definitely should have folded on 6th), but I'd love to hear comments. I should mention this was from a poker blogger tourney, and I think it's highly unlikely that anyone still in the hand would have folded to a 4th street raise by me. Of course, by 6th street, I was facing a couple monsters...

Sure. I don't like to raise a flush draw, you want players in the pot to give you odds later on. I call here as well.

Sure, once again raising here thins the field and doesn't give as great of odds but when pv pairs his door card be careful. I think he has a medium/small pp in the hole so I am have him on 2 pair now but with a larger door card you need to put him on trips here. I am also noticing a few spades out there, you really need great odds to continue.

There is a lot going on here! I think I fold to the 320 bet when I see 2 pairs on the board and I am drawing to a flush. I have to give my opponents credit for 2 pair at least and possibly already made boats and I am sitting here with a naked FD. I might not even be good if I hit here so I probobly fold here.

For the record I gave my analasys street by street without looking to see the result. I called it! Not the quads but the boat. Same idea. Multiple open pairs vs FD = fold the FD!

Thanks for the advice...yeah, I think in retrospect, I should have played the hand per your analysis (call 3rd & 4th, fold to the 6th street raise). In fact, I would have still been 2nd in chips at the table if I fold there. Which may have been rather irrelevant, since I more than doubled up later in the tourney (but still went out before the money).

Oh yeah, you'll find this part cute. "PV" is a she (she's a NYC lawyer). Here's her blog: http://lawchica.blogspot.com/

She's had a couple of five figure scores, too.

Note to self -- two pairs showing and folks raising meant GTFO with less than a made boat Wink

also always take note of when your opponent pairs thier door card, on any street.

After 4th street there are 7 visible spades, this reduces your chances of catching the flush down to only 6 outs.

I agree with Danny, if I see open pairs on the board, I'll turn into a calling station (but only if I have pot-odds). Usually, if I don't have the flush by at least 6th street, I'm mucking. I rarely depend on the river to bail me out, especially when there are multiple people betting, raising, and calling around me. There are just too many hands to dodge here.

Pv should never have been in the hand. Even in a high/low game, her hand is marginal. If she was paying attention, a 2 was mucked pre-flop and the second 2 on 4th street should have given her an indication his outs were limited.

Gcox was showing strenth from the beginning, although it wasn't obvious until the end why. He was betting/raising every time. Even if he has a history of doing this on multiple hands, you still have to put him on at least a decent hand (2-pair, trips, and the gutshot straight on the board by 6th street).

If my opponent on a later hand had done that, I might have cashed.

I don't have the HH, but about 45 minutes or so later, with 40 left (12 get paid), a dude brings in, and someone else with an A in the door completes.

I have three spades (again), but a four in the door, and I raise. (He's shown a tendency to fold earlier, and he's lower in chips than me.) He calls. I pair my door 4 on 4th street and bet out, trying to sell a hand. He raises, I re-raise, and he calls. I'm now in for like 70% of my chips, and lead out on 5th and 6th, for some dumbass reason...

Um, he didn't pay attention to my clear aggression with 44 showing...and I didn't improve, and his split pair of AA took me out, lol.

btw those are some HUGE hands all at once. I mean it's pretty rare to see 2 full houses, let alone 2 full houses with another person holding the nut flush AND one guy with quads!!! Crazy hand, but you still need to fold to that much action with multiple open pairs out there. I mean, what do you think those open pairs are betting at eachother with?
