Cooler
It was getting a little quiet around here (everyones probably up playing in the HPT) so I though I'd post a couple hands from my cooler last night in an MTT.
We are hand for hand and waiting to eliminate the bubble and I get dealt the following two hands. I have a 6th place chip stack with 64 players remaining. The first scenario is more of a "nice catch" by me on the turn, but the river was still brutal. The second "one outer" was just sick and happened two hands after the first scenario (still hand for hand). After these two hands I got 10-10 and AK both beat after raises preflop (still hand for hand). Eventually I busted in 48th place for a small cash, but still frustrated over this cooler.

Re: Cooler
Tough hands Son...the title is approriately named and at least you only threw the mouse against the wall instead of the monitor or laptop in which it would have been a more costly bad beat like Danny is known for.

Re: Cooler
Wow, those were pretty brutal, damn. Here's hoping you avoid 1- and 3-outers the rest of the week.
That said, I think you bet the turn on the first hand poorly. If there's 14k in the pot, and three in the hand, and I have top two pair but a flush draw is out there, betting 1/7th of the pot is going to give the flush draws easy odds to call there. In fact, I'm convinced "JLQQ" was chasing a flush. And, even if a donk is chasing the Broadway gutter...let's just say that the turn was as good spot there to be about 1/2 pot.
A half pot bet on the turn makes bmoney go all in or fold, as it's 7k to him when he's on a 9k stack.

Re: Cooler
I agree, only problem is this a limit tournament and that was my only option. There are times when I love limit and there are times when I HATE, HATE, HATE it.Mondogarage wrote:Wow, those were pretty brutal, damn. Here's hoping you avoid 1- and 3-outers the rest of the week.

I learned a long time ago that mice are much cheaper to replace then flat screen monitors.kkravec wrote:Tough hands Son...the title is approriately named and at least you only threw the mouse against the wall instead of the monitor or laptop in which it would have been a more costly bad beat like Danny is known for.
Re: Cooler
Don't play limit. Limit sucks. Playing limit angers the NL/PL gods and they punish you for worshipping the lesser limit god.

My god is more superior then your god, lol -------> loves limit.
Re: Cooler
That's why I prefer pot-limit. It allows large enough bets to force out the draws, and it prevents the donks from turning it into a pre-flop shove-fest.
Sorry about those beats. Gotta love pokerstars.

Re: Cooler
Holy shit...the screen on my iPod looks like that, and I've never even thrown it.
There's something really effed up when the LCD crystals start leaking on the inside.
That happened to mine six months after I bought it, and it's gotten so bad over the last 2.5 years, I can barely see *anything* on my screen anymore. Time for a new iPod.
And yeah, I even sent it back to Apple, and they said "not our problem".

Did you read the Patrick Antonius interview where the interviewer notices the holes in the wall next to his computer? lol
Re: Cooler
