Professional Engineering Exam
I'm sure everyone here knows I'm an engineer. Well, last friday (the 11th) was the Professional Engineers (P.E.) exam. Basically, if I pass this exam, then I can legally practice engineering in Colorado on my own. It's kinda like the board exams for Lawyers or doctors. Right now I am what's called and Engineer Intern, which requires that I work under the direct supervision of a licensed engineer.
Anyways, both Jeff (jc_hammy) and I took this 8 hour beast last week. I think we both managed to do well enough to maintain hope that we passed, but not so good that I can guarantee a pass. Here's to hoping!!

Nice! Hope it works out and keep us updated. Reminds me of when I took the MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) but I doubt it was as difficult as the test you took.
Re: Professional Engineering Exam
Took the MCAT once, don't plan on sitting through any more 8 hour exams. GL!!!!!

Re: Professional Engineering Exam
To give you an idea of what the test is like, I brought a small library (~12-15 books) worth of reference material. The main book I used is about the size of a dictionary and contains almost cover to cover tables, graphs, equations, and procedures. I'll try to remember to bring it to the house game Keith is hosting. I've been studying for this at a rate of about 10 hours per week for the last 3 months.

Reminds me of part of why I ended up not going to law school.

That didn't stop me. It was a six-month internship in Peoria my senior year that made me change my mind!

Congratulations, Keith! BOOYA!!!
Oh yeah, and I have a measly B.A. that's really more a combo of three minors than anything else..... *
*My wife more than makes up for it with two Master's Degrees and a Ph.D.

Re: Professional Engineering Exam
I have a high school diploma...
I fucking hate school.....everytime I think about going back, I remember how bad I hate it...weird thing is my brother is the exact opposite....
if I had any sort of passion for anything career related maybe I could do it, but at this point there is none. I don't know that there is any job out there that I would not hate after some time though....
unless they start offering careers in doing absolutly nothing...no schoo for dis foo..

I didn't vote for W because I thought he was an idiot. How would I vote if Danny ran...

One thing that was good about W was that he got people like me to vote. because I don't want that to ever happen again....and you can't bitch about it if you don't vote right?

Well to start if I ran for president I would put a vending machine in the cafeteria. EVERY cafeteria. What do you think about that?dexman1349 wrote:PoWdA wrote:If the trend in this thread is correct I will probobly end up as a president....
