Brag of sorts....but not poker
So it's been about 10 weeks since my back was sliced and diced and I have tried to do as the doctor's have told me...but not as well as I should. But, I hit the driving range twice last week and ended up at the Family Sports course yesterday afternoon for a quick 9 and woke up without pain or discomfort. I am definately looking forward to our weekend of poker/golf later this month and hope to continue to recovery. BTW I have yet to hit a driver or other wood, but the 3-iron worked well on the long par 5 with a huge wind at our back and I droped it about 315 yards out (thank you wind:D).

Great news. Sounds like your doctors may have actually known what they were doing and didn't have their heads up their asses.
Hope your recovery continues down this path.

You don't really need a driver on that course (except maybe the par 5). On #8, I've driven over the green twice. Fantastic course to work on your target golf--i.e., using mid-iron off the tee to setup a full wedge shot from the correct angle.

No need for any woods really and that's what made it an appealing choice to play, no temptation to try to crush the ball with the driver.

If you head out there on weekday evenings, shoot me a PM. Might be interested in joining you. Ian might, too.

Is the pace of play slow on weekdays? Yesterday was a horrible stroll and we waited on every shot for the idiots in front of us to play. That made it very frustrating and almost worth heading to a "real" course for the extra couple buck so you don't have to play behind people like that.

only played there twice....brutal both times...but still not a horrible place for 9 after work.
glad the recovery is going well....I am going to try to hit 12 golfers for our outing....I have a nice setup planned out based on that at $20 a man.
and only three par 5's at evergreen...only one of which is driver really necessary....
I know that course is a little bit of a drive but it is going to be fun...and cheap...

I haven't played the course in years, but I think weekday evenings aren't too bad. If it's a league night, try to tee off before them. If it's a long wait, I'll play 2-3 balls per hole for more playing value.
