Dealer's choice home game 8-29 Empty Dealer's choice home game 8-29

Post  dexman1349 Tue Aug 05, 2008 11:05 am

When - Friday August 29th, cards in the air no later than 8 PM but possibly earlier if possible. Let me know if there is a better time for everyone.

Where - Keith's house (Dexman1349) in Aurora, near Colfax and I-225. It's actually very quick to get to my house from just about anywhere in Denver since I live so close to I-70 and I-225.

Who:
1. Dexman1349
2. jc_hammy
3. Durr
4. Idh78
5. PoWdA
6. Keenan (plus friend)
7.
8. Snowocean
9. ak1978?
10.
11.
12.
13.
14.
15.
16.

What - This is a CASH GAME. Not a tournament. Mixed game. the rules, limits and games are posted below.

Hold em and Omaha/8b are played $.50/1.00 with a $.25 small blind and $.50 big blind with one bet and 3 raises allowed.

Triple Draw will be played $.25/.50 with a single $.25 blind with one bet and 3 raises allowed. (this should give everyone time to get familier with the game without losing thier shirt)**

Stud, Razz, and Stud/8b can be played $.50/1.00 with a $.10 ante, $.25 bring in, and $.50 complete with double bet allowed (if board pairs) and one bet with 3 raises allowed.

All games are limit, there are no no-limit or pot limit games. No wildcards or other variations (baseball, follow the queen, etc), WSOP sanctioned structured poker only. This is a cash game, NOT a tournament! This is going to be an 8 players max per table game. All games are choice. The button will move with the deal (everyone deals) and there will be a seperate "choice button" that will move every 5 hands. When a game is chosen that game is spread for 5 hands and then the choice button is moved to the left and a new game is chosen by whoever received the choice button. All games are 1 opening bet and 3 raises. No sitting out entire games because you do not like the game being spread unless you wish to deal for the duration of the game. 30 minute notice needed before leaving, if you do not want to give 30 minutes before you leave you will not be invited back. You may deal for tips (to get back in the game if you go broke and only if you go broke) if your luck and money are gone! BYOB and NO CRYBABIES. Expect to lose anywhere from $20-$50 in this game (Keith Danny should expect to lose anywhere from $100 to $200).

**If all are comfortable Badugi can be introduced as well with the same betting structure and also if all are comfortable both Triple Draw 2-7 and Badugi can use the exact structure as the flop games. Introducing Badugi is a long shot but if we get a few people interested we can spread it.

Come out and play It should be tons of fun. We ran a nearly identical game at Danny's and the game went very smooth and was tons of fun. If you want to play post here and I will PM directions and answer any questions! Hope too see you guys there!

As always, no rake.

korkskrew wrote:Buy in limits?

The first time we played this we all sat down with $20 and that covered us for a couple of hours. More recently about $40 is good for the entire night. Because these are all limit games, you don't necessarily need the 200x BB rule, but you are welcome to buy-in for whatever you want.

Just let me know if you can make it so we can reserve a seat.

I don't think your 0.11 will last very long but if you think you have a chance, go for it.

You don't have to wear pants in particular...you can wear a dress if you prefer.

You got to shave when you wear a dress like that... and I don't mean your legs!

I have absolutely no idea whatsoever if I *can* come yet, but I'd like to.

Feel free to put me down, with the caveat that if you get one more player than you have seats for, feel free to bump me off the list.

In!

What happened to the no pineapple rule? That one was my favorite.

I think I should be able to get out. The 28th will make one year since I had my last cigarette. Maybe a poker game will be just the thing to celebrate.

I can bring chips if you want Keith.

I will not confirm nor deny the presence of pineapple at my house....

If you could bring chips that would be great. I need a felt table as well unless you guys don't mind playing on a wooden kitchen table... It looks like I might need to round up some chairs as well, but I don't think that will be an issue.

I'm not opposed to people who want to start early. I'll try to have everything setup by about 7 (or earlier) so we would only be waiting for others to arrive.

Well, if I do make it, early's good for me too, since I'd be coming straight from work and not going home to Longmont first. So I could second that.

I will tenatively commit to playing. I have tables, chips, etc. While I am at it, I could also host, which means that I just have to bring up the tables from the basement. I live near Hampden & Tower in southeast Aurora. I may be able to rope in some more players, to get 2 tables going.

I have plenty of space for up to 3 tables if needed. I only have two non-poker tables with legs (dining room table & general folding table), so I would need someone to bring the felt. I know Jeff (jc_hammy) might be able to bring two small folding table-top poker tables. But I only have enough chairs for 1 table. I'll see what the relatives have available.

However since most of the games we'll be playing are suited more for 6-8 handed, that means we'd be good for only 24 max. I don't know how everyone else feels about a multi-table cash game option, but I don't think it would be an issue. Anyone elses thoughts?

ps. No collusion or any other form of cheating (or any accusations) will be allowed for the duration of the game... Laughing

I'd definitely be interested in playing if you'll have me. I'm not sure what you guys do as far as vetting new players, but I'd certainly answer any reasonable questions regarding my non-douchiness.

Keith I found a few folding table tops on craigslist for around $20 bucks. I for sure can pick at least one up so that will help. I will bring the chips as well no problem. I have no chairs really.

Thought I'd post a few points for clarity:

1) I'm going to limit this to two tables max (16 players). I really don't want to scramble to find chairs/tables for any more than that.

2) To prevent this from being a free-for-all open invite, if they are not a member of this site, they will not be allowed. I really don't want to be forced to police a friend of a friend. If you have a friend that wants to play, they must first join and introduce themselves.

3) Since we would then all somewhat know each-other, there will be no cheating (or accusations of cheating) in any form. If you feel at any point that cheating has occurred you can leave - no advance warning required.

4) This is going to me my house, so therefore it will be run by my rules. There may be a poker-related judgement call that I may defer to someone more skilled for advice, but it will still boil down to my ruling. If I feel that anyone is disrespecting any other player, arguing on how the game is being run, or if they ultimately ruin the overall goal of having fun for the evening, I will show them the door.

If anyone needs any more clarification, let me know.

I will look into the Craigslist thing concerning a folding tabletop. I've wanted one for a while and this may be a good excuse to finally buy one. If two tables are needed I would need an additional tabletop, but I think I can convince Jeff to bring his. I will definately need chips though.
