Re: The DNC
I get to work from home all week. I'm also getting a free steak dinner at Cool River Cafe on Thursday night, and I'm going to Brook's Steakhouse on Friday night, so I got that going for me.

Re: The DNC
My wife's been a DNC volunteer driver for the last few weeks, but has no more assignments. I'm working from home Wed/Thurs, but I'm right in the shit today. Allegedly a protest march to the federal courthouse across the street from me. We'll see if I get to leave here to go to rehearsal tonight.
Re: The DNC
Luckily, the office I work at is not directly downtown (South a couple of miles). I will be avoiding I-25, but 6th Avenue looked pretty clear all the way in today.

This is the first time that I've ever fantasized about a nuclear warhead hitting the city.

I'm thinking both. Both parties are loaed with extremist idiots IMO.
I confused the hell out of some phone survey person last week.
"if you had to vote today, who would you vote for; McCain or Obama?"
"Neither"
"........................................................well.......what if you had to vote for one or the other?"
"you mean, like someone's holding a gun to my head?"
"yeah"
"I'd tell them to pull the trigger"

Re: The DNC
I had a democratic pollster ask me who I was voting for this year:
"I haven't really thought about it yet."
"WHAT?!?! This year is a very critical decision toward the future of the country, how could you not think about it?"
"I prefer to think about puppies, they're cuter."
*click* <--- she hung up on me.

I can enthusiastically agree with all but the Cubbies. I really hope that CU is up by 4TDs at half and plays the scrubs in the second half who still manage to run up the score. I don't expect that'll happen though.

I don't... This game is almost always single digits...the underdog has covered in 9 out of the last 12 matchups

Re: The DNC
CSU: New coach, new QB, porous defense, no kicker. They have a good RB.
CU: Same coach, QB, better D, enormous and talented O-line.
I still like to think that the rivalry means something, but I see it CU 35 CSU 7, with 2 deffensive TD's for CU.

Re: The DNC
Thanks god, it's over!
I actually ended up right at the stadium when the fireworks went off. It was a very strange vibe down there, a mix of cops, protesters, people who were huge democrats, and people who just lived nearby... Hard to explain, just a strange vibe. Emily ended up inside Invesco with press credentials. I am glad I didn't have to go inside but I must admit it woulda been kinda cool to go in.
Anyway, I am glad it is over. Can something else please be on tv now?
