South area monthly tourney
Hey guys,
Hopefully Powda won't ban me for pimping another forum, but I stumbled upon a monthly home game several months ago. It's a $40 NLHE tourney, they sometimes get a cash game going of Omaha, etc. afterwards. Good bunch of guys and some solid players. They're playing this Sat night and have room for more players last I checked. Friendly game. If you're interested go to:
www.milehighpoker.com
Introduce yourself, etc.
I think Powda's a member there, he just can't be bothered to show up to the games........

Re: South area monthly tourney
heh.. I should try to make one sometime. I play so much online that I can never find the time. I should try and make one of these before the rugrat arrives though.
Re: South area monthly tourney
Also once me and the female get our new place (supposed to be mid feb to mid march) I am planning on hosting a home game or two. I am not totally sure on the details but one thing is that it is not going to be NL Hold Em and it is not going to be a tourney. I am thinking an 8 max cash game, baby stakes (maybe 1/2), spreading the choices of Stud, Stud/8b, Hold em (limit) Omaha/8b (limit), Razz, and my personal favorite, 2-7 triple draw. Basically any and all events played at the WSOP that are structured. No wilcards and no strange variations on normal games (baseball, follow the queen, etc..) and stakes that can allow for people to have fun and learn for the most part but also let some people leave with a little money in thier pockets.
Also Em said she wants me to have poker night so she can makes snacks and serve us all beer. This is her idea. She doesn't play but it sounds like she is going to try and make up for that
^^^ My main selling point
Once this game gets off the ground I will let you guys know, just throwing the idea out there for now.

I am with you on the NLHE tourney thing, but seriously come play with us sometime....even if hold em wouldn't be your first choice(or 2nd or 3rd ) the core group is just simply a lot of fun to hang out with.....it's as much about having a good time, the mood is light even though the game is somewhat serious....
oh and if/when you start hosting a mixed $1/$2 limit game....I will be there...as will Andy K.

Hour long rounds! If you guys start the blinds off really low, you will be there for over 12 hours. Still it would be fun!idh78 wrote:another game this Saturday....$40 6:30pm

Can't make this one. I'll be battling the snow all weekend at my parents house. They haven't seen the grandkids in a while.
Keep me in mind for the next one.

I'll be there. Unfortunately I'll probably manage to get knocked out before I get a chance to collect the mystery bounty that Ian has placed on himself (probably a good thing).

with the way our games have been playing lately I will be surprised if it goes past 11:00...we have all been playing together for so long that we all know each other's game quite well

Re: South area monthly tourney
Pretty much the only reason I am not playing is lack of transportation. If the girl lets me take her car I will try and make it out but as it stands I have no way of getting there
Re: South area monthly tourney
well it's only about 10 miles....I would be willing to pick your ass up if we can find someone going that direction to give you a lift home...

Re: South area monthly tourney
How much notice do you need? If I can convince the wife to go we could pick up Danny on the way. I wouldn't know until after the kids lacrosse game tomorrow, probably around 2:00PM.
