So who is playing today?
I didn't go to work today because I feel like shit so I am playing some baby stakes tourneys on pokerstars.. Anyone else playing today?
Re: So who is playing today?
At the office today, no pokerz, even though my billable hours are way down this past week. I'd get shitcanned if I loaded up PS, FTP, or Bodog on my office laptop, so no way, Jose.
Unfortunately for me, I'm also missing tonights Bodog bloggament, because I stayed out late playing more bar poker and really need to spend tonight with wifey. (I turned in a shortish stack in 4th place after going ninja with short stack when final table started, running it up to being overall CL)
I'd rather be playing online than bar poker, frankly, but the best situation for me would be if my wife's late night at CSU would coincide with the tournaments I most like to play.

Re: So who is playing today?
Yeah son I would love to win something.. I am on an incredibly bad losing streak. I decided to move from about 5% tourneys and 95% cash to about 10% cash and 90% tourneys and it is hurting. I am down nearly $600 playing tourneys in the last few weeks, almost all buy-ins of $11 or less so I mean I am hurting BAD. I knew tourney variance was bad but DAMN.. I though even a blind squirrel could find a nut sometime...
<-- really hoping to cash in SOMETHING today.
edit.. as I hit enter to post this I call all in with aces, guy has QJoff and I spike my ace. Turn 10, River K.
I am bust in that one! Time to mark up another loss! YAY!

My problem with playing online was not quitting. Since I grew up as a limit player in the good old Blackhawk hills, I know that closing time is 2:00 AM (...if I could just win the last hand that's capped at 30 preflop with no folders I could be even). Once I built my online bankroll from $50 to $1000 in about a week by winning $100 or more a day then quitting. Well one Friday night I was down $100 in the 2/4 limit, then moved to 5/10 limit dropped $200 more, then moved to 10/20 and lost my entire bankroll. Looked at the clock and noticed it was 3AM on Sunday!! Ahhhh, the good old days.
Anyway... Don't let my little stories discourage you. I feel you will do well today young grasshopper. All you need is one good win and that $600 deficit will be gone. Good luck on the virtual felt!
Re: So who is playing today?
You're bound to hit -- but losing $600 on $11 max buyins in a few weeks? Beyond running bad, you're playing a LOT of MTTs.
I'm so jealous.

Yeah there are a few higher buy ins as well.. Around 3 or four in the 20 to 30 dollar range and one $55 (which I cashed in) and I have been cashing a little here and there but I have not gone too deep in anything that mattes in weeks. As I am typing this my A2368 (razz) was cracked by a guy with a K up on 3rd that ended up having a3456 by the river and I am now busted in the HORSE tourney....
Re: So who is playing today?
Yet another rough day....
0/9 in tourneys today.. I am still waiting fro this $16 HORSE trubo to fill and this Triple Draw Sng wan't fill either.
Playing some 2-7 TD cash now.. I think switching over to tourneys was a horrible mistake.

Re: So who is playing today?
I think "mistake" may be too strong a term - you strike me as a successful cash game player, but your $$$ re-allocation may have been too extreme. If you were to do something like 33% cash/66% tourneys, your cash game play could probably fund your tourney buy-ins at a reasonable pace.
Re: So who is playing today?
Yeah I tend to do wayyy better in cash games. I am going to go back to my bread and butter from a few years ago and see how that works.
single table sngs.
As I was typing this I busted out of a $4.40 180 person SNG when I got into a race situation, I had AK he had 1010, no a no k, gg. I am going to stay away from tourneys for a while. I gave it a few weeks. I think I will stick to playing tourneyes on sundays and cash or 1 table sngs every other day of the week.

Re: So who is playing today?
Good luck with that -- bread 'n butter = bankroll building.
My cash game play is my weakest suit, but having gone nearly busto on FTP, I'm challenging myself to rebuild from $6 in my account by playing strictly ring games. Right now, doing .05/.10 capped NLHE (NL on training wheels, I guess). Over my first 50 hands, up to about $7.85 -- which is utterly insignificant, but a great BB/100!
Sticking to tourneys/satellites on the other sites. I like the 4/180s, but don't have a +ROI in them, because the best I've done is a couple of 2nd place finishes.

Re: So who is playing today?
Good luck with the bankroll building. I did that a few years ago on UB. After a withdrawal I had .74 cents left. I decided to grow that to 1K playing only Triple Draw. I made it to around 300 after about 2 or 3 monthst and then started palying other games and kinda lost track of where I was with that but I have made well over 1k playing triple draw since. Gl with that bankroll building! Mine is in repair stage.
Re: So who is playing today?
Bet your entire bankroll on one hand of blackjack, win and repeat until you have a much larger bankroll.

Good luck with the bankroll building guys. I've been having the exact opposite results this year. My live action tournament play is up and my live action mixed game and limit hold'em game is down! Of course I'm only talking one day of live play this year (placed in 2 of 4 tournaments, down for 8 hours of live play). Actually last year, I went on a nice little streak in the middle of Summer where I placed in 6 of 10 tournaments including two firsts. Maybe I should slow down on my live play and get into more tournaments this year. Of course over the summer, I won enough in live action to usually pay for my entry fee in a tournament. There's something about playing a live tournament basically on a freeroll that brings out the aggression needed to go deep.
Re: So who is playing today?
Well, I did manage to more than double my PokerStars bankroll last Tuesday in a HORSE tourney, it's just FTP where I'm busto'd. But this is the year I take down a couple of MTTs. My only real goal is to not have to reload online at all during 2008, on any of the sites I play.
Re: So who is playing today?

I showed up as the cards were turned over. I also showed up as you went all in at the Omaha H/L tourney. Bad luck today, huh?

Re: So who is playing today?
Meh... Variance in tourneys can be pretty bad. I have had some painfuil losses today though. I have bubbled 3 sngs and took 19th of 120 in the $33 HORSE. 16 got money I havn't lost terribly today but I am down a little. I just took a break, walked the dog, took a shower, got some food, and went to my grandmas (house sitting on her nice computer ) and I am now registering in the $10 w/1 re-buy and 1 add on and the $22 PLO8 tourneys on stars and I have a forum tourney (a different one obviously) on full tilt @6. I am hoping to pull some profit out of today.dexman1349 wrote:PoWdA wrote:how did you like him calling my re-raise pre-flop...
