Re: GOOOO SON!!!
That was shortlived on a bad play by me.
After I made a three times the raise bet with A10, I should have known that someone had called with an overpair. Flop comes 6-10-6 and I got caught up with my top pair. I thought maybe he had the same hand and I was for sure he did not have the 6, possibly pocket 10's but I doubt that. A common example of investing too much of my money out of position and not letting go. Oh well, live and learn. 46th place which was good for $5.53 (one more place and I would have been $.35 richer).

The field was 3455 player paying top 648. By the way the hand goes as follows:PoWdA wrote:that sucsk man... blinds at 2000/4000 and 400 ante
I'm in middle position with A10 and I raise to 12,000 hoping to take some blinds as I haven't seen a flop in two rounds.
cutoff calls, BB calls and UTG calls.
Flop is 6-10-6 rainbow, check to me and I bet 12,000.
UTG raises to 58,000, everyone else folds to me and I deliberate and eventually call.
Turn is a K and I check. UTG goes all in. I'm sure he doesn't have a K or a 6, probably an overpair and I know it. He has me covered by about 10,000 chips. There is over 200k in the pot. I'm so committed that the measly 50k in front of me seems meaningless. The timer beeps at me and I decide to call.
UTG shows pocket Q's and I don't improve.
Now that I replay this in my head I am kicking myself in the ass for not knowing what he had. It seems obvious now, but at the time I was praying he was on a bluff or middle pair.
Re: GOOOO SON!!!
Still a good run... Good job. You can't be mad at yourself for going that deep ever.
Re: GOOOO SON!!!
Good job, Scrupboy! Yeah, in such a fishfest as the huge field MTTs go, you can never get upset at making top 2% of finishers.
I'm just bummed that I got home too late to get into the Stars $200k 10+1...filled up before I got home, dammit.
Won half a buyin at .50/1 2-7 TD yesterday, though.

Thanks guys! It does feel good to be playing online again.... I feel a quote coming, "At least your rounding again, you'll thank me for that."
I better get into another game before 9PM comes and the wife is back. $11.32 now and counting. See you guys on the table.

Re: GOOOO SON!!!
Well my second run at a micro $1 tournament was a bust. Out 1449 of 2991, but I am up $1 in the .02/.04 limit game I was playing simultaneously! We'll call that a wash.
