Re: can't stay logged in?
I had to log in on my home comp last night, then had to re-log in at work this morning. It might be tied to the fact that some computers probably deleted cookies on the first of the month. *shrug*

If you have a login lasting greater than four hours, call your doctor, as you may have a serious health issue.

Odd... I log into a computer and am still logged in the next week. Let me know if this persists and I will see what I can do.

IT guy says:
Staying logged in is usually handled by the local computer. Now having certain security levels set can cause this not to work properly, such as having cookies disabled. Some proxies and third party applications will also not allow cookies to be enabled or restrict the handling of information locally. Those of you with Windows XP also have security setting and OS firewalls that can restrict this flow.
What does this all mean? Most likely that a local setting is preventing you from being able to stay logged on . IT guy says: The problem is user error.

Thank you IT guy! Also should I be getting my CompTIA A+ cert? I mean I already am and am enjoying it a lot but is it going to be good for me down the line in IT?Scrupboy wrote:IT guy says:

Re: can't stay logged in?
If you are already in the class, then yes I would continue and get it. Since you don't have work experience then having this certificate will be beneficial. Some places will only hire you if you have this certificate or a number of years of on the job experience. I never took this class, but I have read the requirements and seen the curriculum. This will be good for basic troubleshooting and hardware repair. Also, it will give you good insight on networking and basic security vulnerabilities. Hardware is a lot easier to manage these days and most hardware components are "intelligent". Back in my day, you had to adjust the clock speed and processor ratio on the bios...PoWdA wrote:Also should I be getting my CompTIA A+ cert?
