I am a lmit guy too Son. PLO is actually my weakest game as far as games that I have studied, dedicated time too, read books on etc... I have just been dabbling at micro stakes when I am running bad becasue I figure I am killing 2 birds with one stone: protecting my bankroll and learning another game. That sucks about your roll, you should played our forum tourney Very Happy

Finally got back on the HORSE and played some online yesterday. Made a deep run in a HORSE tournament and a little low, low, low limit game. Also, finally updated the blog as well: http://pokerzerotohero.blogspot.com

For a while there I was just not ready to go back and grind out the low limit again. Feeling a little better though.

Built the bankroll back up from near devestation last week. Saturday I was able to make a decent cash in a $3 rebuy tournament on PokerStars. It ended up with over $40,000 prize pool which is just crazy. I didn't make a rebuy or take the add-on and still made it into the money good for $28. Then on Sunday I made a 5th place finish in a Omaha tournament good for $37. This brings the bankroll back on track and now over $80. I also played the 100k $10 tournamnet and missed the money by about 1200 places. It had 20,000 entries generating a first place prize of $20,000 and paid top 3000. Made a good run and decided I was going for first on not just to make the money. This strategy hurt me as I got very aggressive with a 15,000 chip stack and committed myself preflop with AQ. Oh well, there's always next time.

I love that $3R, but almost never get to play it. Nice work on the blog, and more importantly, on the bankroll. $80 from .60? I'm truly impressed.

Thanks Mondo!
...and don't forget $0.60 --> $63 --> $5 --> $85 --> and now $75. Ended up blowing $10 trying to move up to the .25/1 game again, but this time I just hung up my gloves and quit for the night. Very Happy

On another note, I received an email from Fulltilt offering me a $100 bonus credit. Only thing is it has to be activated by the 4th (today) and I get 10 days to fulfill the requirements for the bonus money. Only problem is I don't have any FullTilt $$. Did anyone want to possibly swap out some PS money for FT money? I don't know what the minimums are.

I think the next step is to grind some micros until you hit $100 then transfer your money to UB and put it all on one hand of BJ.

Good luck with that. I think it would be really damn hard to clear more than $10 or $20 tops of that bonus, given the stakes. If you want to clear $100 in 4 days, you'd probably have to be playing 50NL or 100NL, would be my guess. I've hardly ever cleared a full bonus on Tilt, ever.

Oh yeah, I ran into that one dude and said hi on Friday. Not the dealer, but big bling dude. John wasn't dealing.

I don't know what swap minimums are, but Tilt is my smallest roll right now, and the site I busto on the quickest, so I don't really feel comfy trading any of it right now. No (If my "smallest", it was like $500, I would, but it's like 20% of that...)

Thanks for the offer PoWda, but I believe Mondo is correct in assuming it would take a lot of play to get the bonus $$. I recall FullTilt only having low limits of .50/1 or maybe .25/.50 which would take forever to get my bonus money back, plus I would be removing money from my current BR on Stars. I'll hold off for now and continue the Stars roll. Thanks again though!

I think your right and it would take forever and FT does not have as low of limits as PS.

The game was actually pretty good. I was #2 on the wait list. There was one really LAGgy table (Ram's), and one fairly tight table, where I ended up. There was one player who was calling all ins with stuff like K7o, but she was new. I managed to triple up fairly early, but had to fold to a resteal, and when I went 500 on AKo (blinds were 25/50, with about five limpers to me), with one caller, I learned A9 > AK every time, lol. But it was actually a fun game. They had about 22 on a wait list, though, and some didn't sit until at least 9:30, which, imho, is pretty intolrable. But that's just me -- if folks don't mind waiting 150 minutes to sit, then more power to 'em. They're supposed to have three tables this week.

The dealers were competent, and the play was no better or worse than I was used to, and the game was actually friendlier than I've seen it at the Bit sometimes. I enjoyed it, and wish my early run of cards could have continued.

Almost a big hit yesterday. The BR now stands at just under $100. Made a nice run in a HORSE tournament yesterday where I was chip leader for about 1/2 of the tournament, then squandered it all away with two tables left. lol Still made an 8th place finish, but my eye was on 1st or 2nd. I should have just sat out and coasted to the final table, instead I come to the final table with the short stack and go out on the first hand. Once the BR hits $100 I'll have to start finding bigger games. Very Happy

Major breakthrough boys and girls! Just busted out of a $11 R tournament that was loaded.

The touranament had 7728 players. Most of these players entered due to the 100k being canceled due to technical reasons on PokerStars. Everyone got their money back which was around 18,000 entries when I last checked. The $11R was the next running tournament resulting in a huge field. I don't know what happened, but there were all kinds of problems Sunday afternoon. They stopped the sit-n-go's and cancelled a few tournaments. Anyway, I buy in for $11 and never rebuy. At the end of the first break I am +30k. No need to do an add-on as this would be only 2000 chips more, lol. The tournament generated a ton of rebuys and add-on's and eventually ended with a $270,800 prize pool and $38,000 first prize money. To make a long story short, I busted in 128th place for $297.88. Right now I feel a little dissapointed as I wanted one of the 4 figure paydays and was in contention for most of the tournament. It was not meant to be, but a nice cash and HUGE increase to the BR. For more details check out the blog later this week as I will update it with a few screen captures and of course in much greater detail.

BR at +$400

BOOM!!!!!

Dude, you've got more on Stars than I do now. .60 to $400...rofl, that's so awesome. I was supposed to be in the $100k, too, but after that cancelled, and I didn't get in the $3R, I figured $11R is above my roll, with the ballers who rebuy 50 times. That is so damn cool that you got to punish them for their lagginess -- I'm gonna have to pimp your blog on my own tomorrow -- folks deserve to read of it.

So awesome, makes my lil FT go to shame. ;-) (though I have cashed in 5 of my last 9 tourneys on FTP ;-)

Very nice son!!!!

I had the same issue..... 100K went down so didn't play. I did see the 11R and almost palyed but opted to paly the 33 HORSE and 11 Razz instead. Busted in both in uneventful lame as finishes with no money. Still, WTG man! Very nice work on that bankroll! Keep up the good run man!

Everything went bad... very bad!

I was home sick for two days and played so much poker. Can you say, "Crash and burn!" That's basically what happened. I didn't quite burn, but it was a pretty bad crash. I guess the rollercoaster is still in effect and I doubt I will ever get away from it. Check out the blog if you guys want to hear about my horrific week. To make a long story short BR is now at approximately $13. Zero to hero to zero! Sad

Hey Mondo, thanks for the entry in your blog. I seemed to get some good traffic from it. Now they can witness my explosion, lol. When I get some time, I will add you to my contacts on there and eventually get away from the standard blog look and feel. It would be nice to customize.

Oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

I'm not sure where the silver lining there is, but your BR is still 20x what it started at, so there's room to grow.

I look forward to reading your blog, but I fear the train wreck. However, I think you've got room to get it back.

I had my first down weekend in a while, but it was only down about $25 in buyins, which is par for the course for me when I only cash 20% of my MTTs, but none very deep. I need at least one final table to keep the BR static.

Good news kids!

I chopped a $4/.40 limit holdem tournament last night. This is about the 10th time that I played this event which is a $1000 guarantee at 7PM every night. I've never once placed in the money and tried different strategies. Luckily, I had just the right blend last night to give me the overall chip lead on the final table. Once we got down to 4 players I still had the lead, but lost it within a few rounds leaving us all with about 250k in chips. I offered a chop and we contacted support to chop 4 ways and $209 each. Not a bad payday and pads the BR a little as i was down to pennies recently.

Let's see how long I can hold on to this money before the next burst. Cool
