Flopped top set.....
I know the PF play doesn't look good, but this table was ridiculous.....it was rare if there was a bet for less than the size of the pot. Flopping top set and getting 2 callers for all your chips is usually a good thing.....wasn't too sure here. Anyways I posted this hand more for its ridiculousness than anything else.

Re: Flopped top set.....
Everything looks fine... except the pre-flop limp in the SB with QQ was downright awful... I pop it really hard there.SnowOcean wrote:I know the PF play doesn't look good, but this table was ridiculous.....it was rare if there was a bet for less than the size of the pot. Re: Flopped top set.....
yeah its pretty rare I am limping like that, but this table was the height of ridiculous. There is literally no amount I can reasonably pop there for that these opponents are folding.....i mean the BB min raised with 2c8c!!! Looking back I think the 3rd raise for .40 was a lot worse than the original limp(I admit neither play is close to optimal). when the bb min raised PF into a 2 players I had a momentary lapse of reason and said 'eff it' and put in a small 3rd raise. from that point i was checkrasing all-in unless an A or K hit the flop or the board was all one suit(not a great play IMO, but that was the plan). anyway i hit top set and checked. sb leads out for .70 into a pot of 1.20(the only reasonably sized bet all session) followed by an all-in raise. at that point I have no choice but put the rest in and hope it holds up.
normally if I am at a table like this I leave, but I lost my original buy-in(50 blinds) after 2 or 3 hands. I re-load and start recognizing how 'aggressive' this table is. add more chips and decide I was going to see a lot of flops with any PP and suited conectors hoping to hit a flop hard and let them bet their stack......normally this never works for me, but I was a little tilted from getting felted and was ready to try it again with a bigger stack.....managed to get super lucky and left the table as soon as my blind came back around.
Kind of curious how other people handle these type of tables?
Online its easy to find a more reasonable table, but I play some home games that get out of hand like this. Regularly seeing re-raises with crap like 79o. You put a 3rd raise in with AK or even AQ and your getting called followed by a pot-sized donk bet.....if you miss its really hard to really do anything but fold, and pushing all-in PF in a cash game seems like bingo to me.
Any thoughts?
