My $.60 on PokerStars
Remember that $0.60 I won on the 10FPP tournament on PokerStars? I was a little bored last night after playing Guitar Hero for three hours and decided to see what I could do with my $0.60. Played some .02/.04 limit (I don't recall this small of limit years ago) and quickly doubled up in 1 round. The game went on for about 15 more minutes and broke. I was up to $1.19 now and decided to give it another go. Three tables and 3 hours later I'm up to........ $4.50. Watch out guys, before you know it I'll be up to .05/.10!

How about the Chris Ferguson challenge? How fast can you turn that into $10,000?

Please do. I've actually been working on mine quite a bit lately, though it's probably no more than 50% poker content...

Played a little last night. I was up $2 in 30 minutes, but closed my session with only a $1 win. Roll is up to $5.50 now!

I'm working on my bankroll the bloggariffic way -- got my first advertiser the other day, and they dropped $100 into my FTP account.
I'm thinking about microballin' the .05/.10 CAP NL tables to work on my cash game there. You know, NLHE on training wheels!
But seriously, I need to start small, because all my poker thinking tends to go towards tournament play, and I need to build a good foundation of NL cash skills. Limit, I'm okay with, but NL cash, I'm a bit of a noob.

Nice! Just checked it out. Funny, I just saw The Big Lebowski for the first time about two weeks ago (only show playing that I had not seen in HD). By the end of the movie I was like WTF? I'm sure the entire movie is chopped up and talked about in sections, but I was expecting some type of closure to one of the weirdest movies I had ever seen.Mondogarage wrote:The URL is http://mondogarage.blogspot.com/
Wow! That's awesome. I didn't know that their was a bloggariffic way to things. Not only would blogging be entertaining, but one could profit as well.Mondogarage wrote:I'm working on my bankroll the bloggariffic way -- got my first advertiser the other day, and they dropped $100 into my FTP account.
Re: My $.60 on PokerStars
Saturday was a rough day for my $.60 on Pokerstars. As some of you may recall, I was at about $5.50. I got all the way back down to about $.50 at one time. Then I finally placed in a $1 Omaha/HL tournament at the same time grinding out the .02/.04 limit game for another small win. Tally at 11:45PM was $4.40 for a loss of about $1.10 for the entire day (which started at 9AM by the way). Did play in three tournaments though.
It's Sunday moring an my daughter wakes me up at 6:45AM and needs a ride to work. I get up and take her to work, then come back to find that I am now wide awake. Now I'm on Pokerstars playing in a live .02/.04 limit game where I've gone on a mini heater and am up $2 already! This puts total bankroll in just over $6 range so far today. Talk about grinding it out at low limits. Today's plan is to get into a few tournaments and go deep.
...by the way, I did get that blog started. The URL is http://scrupboy.blogspot.com Currently, I only have one entry that deals with my first live game, but I hope to expand on this. The blog needs lot's of work and I would like to add some custom HTML code to make it a little unique. Any suggestions or comments would be great.

Re: My $.60 on PokerStars
Alright. The blog I started only deals with poker stories about low limit Blackhawk games. I've decided to create another blog for just the nothing to something I'm attempting on Pokerstars, Mondogarage calls this the modified Chris Ferguson challenge. I like the sound of that, can I borrow it? Maybe I'm getting in over my head with not one, but two blogs but we'll see. Only two entries so far. Shouldn't take too long to catch up as I only have about 4 days of play. Of course, yesterday consists of limit action, a few tournaments, and railing for the new man to beat PoWda. Of course thoughts and comments welcome.

$17.44 and counting now! I haven't been able to keep up with the blog. Hope to update it soon with the three missing days. Anyway ----> almost 30 times the $0.60 is a good start.
Re: My $.60 on PokerStars
Is that still mostly from .02/.04 limit, or is it more from tourneys now?
I still gotta blog my play last night. Final tabled 2 of 5 tournies, bubbled another, and only a really bad misplay on my part probably cost me another.

Re: My $.60 on PokerStars
It's a combination of tourneys, .02/.04 limit, and .05/.10 limit. Last night I played two tournaments and didn't place, but won enough in .05/.10 to make up for tournament losses + $1.Mondogarage wrote:Is that still mostly from .02/.04 limit, or is it more from tourneys now?
Nice job on your tournaments last night!
Re: My $.60 on PokerStars
Thanks!
I think I spent a total of $35.10 in buyins, and won $51.70. If I had just held out one more hand in my Bodog tourney, it might have been higher. Not much in terms of profit, but the bankroll did manage to move forward, even if slightly.

Re: My $.60 on PokerStars
Finally made a final table last night in a $1 HORSE tounament. Came to the final table 3rd in chips and exited in 3rd place. Got rivered on the second hand of the final table. Game is stud and short stack and I get all our chips in. He showes two pair, 10's and 5's while I table Q's and 7's. Two more cards to come and he rivers a 5. He goes on to second. Out of the top 3 finalist, I am the only one to cash out in the top 3. The win adds $40 to my roll and now running total is (drumroll please...) $57.81!

Re: My $.60 on PokerStars
I totally went crazy over the weekend after my trip to Blackhawk on Saturday. This is actually why I don't play online poker as there are so many tables and I never want to get offline if I'm losing. I started playing Saturday night at about 10:00PM which was after my win at the Golden Gates. I get into a few tournaments and am down about $4. I am usually able to make this up on the limit games and still add a small win the bankroll. This didn't work out this time and I imploded! At one point I was playing in 3 .25/.50 games at the same time with $10 invested in each game. Needless to say I run really, really bad and lose about my entire roll. Finally I decide I've had enough at 4:00AM in the morning and just over $5 left in my account. This puts me back to where I was a week ago, which isn't terrible, just pisses me off because a nice weeks profit down the drain. I haven't been back on since as I needed to cool off and thinking of playing at those dreadful .02/.04 limits again just makes me ill. No worries, as I will come back!
Re: My $.60 on PokerStars
If it makes you feel better, the .02/.05 NLHE games are very easy to build your bankroll at. I know it's a less than desireable game, but it's a small price to pay while getting ready for the better games.

Re: My $.60 on PokerStars
Yeah I have actaully been playing some .5/.10 PLO and it is cake money. I usually can make about $10 in 10 minutes. Not too shabby!
Re: My $.60 on PokerStars
I'm usually a limit cash game player due to a wide variety of starting hands, but maybe it's time to play some pot limit or NL. Whenever I get over my current state and play again I'll give it a shot.
