Just thought I'd give you all a little insight as to where I am with the $0.60 on PokerStars. I've been living on my FPP's for the last week or so, but have been unable to get anything going. Still have about $5 remaining, but haven't funded the account yet. I'm almost to the point of funding it myself and playing bigger games, but that would defeat the challenge of zero to hero. Oh well, read about my horrible play here: http://pokerzerotohero.blogspot.com/

Ya know, those satellites to the $100k are mega soft. Seriously, you should look at using all your FPPs in those, and then turning entries into $Ts, buy into the $2.20 satellites to the same tourney. Great bankroll builders -- though the $100k itself is almost tortuously pointless (even though I did cash 53rd in that ultimate donkfest once).

From hand #1, you have virtually no fold equity.

Anyway, the rollercoaster's been fascinating to read. But if you actually reload, may I recommend Bodog? That place is soft. Even my donkey ass is final tabling nearly 1/8 of tourneys.

So I totally killed my PS bankroll. Left with $0 and 7FPP points. lol, not even enough to get into a 10 FPP $500 tourney which started this whole thing. The freeroll is over.

The good news. I decided to fund the darn thing myself and have been placing all weekend. Decided that single table sit-n-go's seem to be the game for me with the occasional 4/180 sin-n-go. So far I've been doing pretty well and even took second is a 4/180 Saturday night (Sunday morning). Damn thing was nearly 5 hours long due to heads up play. I get heads up with about 200k in chips to my opponents 50k in chips and he tightens down extremely. I'm buying every pot until he makes a stand and builds back up. We play like this for about an hour and it's frickin 5AM. I'm tired and done and just go all in every hand to end the damn thing and the guy wins 4 in a row to knock me down to second. I was just too tired to play, but $142 for a $4 buy in is not bad, not to mention the nice spike in my sharkscope. Also threw some money on FullTilt to where I donked off about $100 in larger buyin tournaments ($10 daily doubles, $3 rebuy w/6 rebuys and end up out 4 from the $$, $10 KO tournaments). Finally with only $4 left in the account I get into a $3/90 KO and get 6 KO's and place 5th. Then I decide to stick to sit-n-go's where I go on a nice little tear and take down a few HORSE $5 sit-n-go's. Luckily I was able to build it back up to about $50. So the weekend is add $110 to accounts and end up with about $200.

Looks like I will need to change the BLOG. "How to turn $0.60 into $400+ and blow it all" What do you think? No

well sucks about the roll but good job on the new roll. I totally agree that the 9 man sngs are a great bankroll builder. If you plan on playing HORSE sngs plan on running into me. I have decided to play mostly Turbo HORSE sngs as out of everhy game I play I feel I can truly jsut grind a ton of them out and end up with some decent profits. GL and keep us posted.

I've been sticking to HORSE or limit Holdem. My NL game in sit-n-go's hasn't been great, but I did place in a few PL holdem games.

Hopefully I will see you guys in a few of these as I'm always looking for easy money. Razz

Took down 2 $10 sit-n-go's last night and a $5 sit-n-go. These $10 tables seem pretty soft and so far have been easy money. Basically grab the lead early and hold on.

Played a few "steps" tournaments to the WSOP. Took the first one down easily and then moved to step 2. This table was pretty tight and no one took an out right lead. Got down to three handed and lost a ton of chip with AK. Never recovered and ended up with a third place finish for a repeat of step 2. Didn't do anything there and ended up blowing a couple more buyin's on step 1's. These sit-n-go's seem like a great way to qualify for the WSOP. Not to mention, just making it to step 6 is pretty much guaranteed money as long as your not one of the last 3. I plan on playing a few more of these.

I really wanted to love those Steps, but after taking 6-7 cracks at Step 1, and getting sucked out on repeatedly by 3-4 outers to go out 5th, I was like, "fuck it". Those were killing my Stars roll, and I gotta stay away unless I can get a three-figure score in the meantime.

I agree they're totally soft, but the variance is sickening.

Haven't posted on this thread for a while and thought I'd give you all a little update on the PS roll.

As you all know the $0.60 portion is over, but I "man'd up" and deposited a whole $10 about three weeks ago. Then some big cashes in a couple 4/180's, the Sunday 100k, and now a decent run in the nightly 50k, not to mention my single table SNG play. All these things have allowed the bankroll to grow to it's highest point ever of $700+. After losing confidence in MTTs, I made a few adjustments that just seem to be helping. Guess we'll know in a few weeks if these adjustments are helping or if it's just luck. Check out the blog for a detailed recap of last night which includes BBQ chicken. Razz ...and please, someone post a comment over there as it appears as if Mondo and I are the only ones that read it (thanks Mondo!), but maybe that's the case. Suspect

I only look at the pictures. I actually never learned how to read. In fact, my helper monkey does my typing for me. Suspect

Awesome job on the roll!

Update...

Finally satellited into the Million yesterday, but unfortunately went out in early fashion. Had some success at $50 SNGs, but overall had a horrible weekend. Still have money in the account and I guess I can't lose as I've already cashed out $2000, but it looks like I will be going back down to the minor leagues as my play has not been good in the majors. 4/180's here I come!

Just updated the blog for those of you that read: http://pokerzerotohero.blogspot.com/
